We have filled our composition notebooks with notes on figurative language, author's purpose and how to write a great essay. Our classroom pencils have been sharpened to stubs, the colored pencils we use to edit are disappearing and the ink we use for the final drafts are dried out. We want to see our growth; we know where we started. Now we will graph how many students have learned to write a proper introduction with a hook, bridge and thesis statement. Who has improved in citing their sources, and of course, who can write a satisfying conclusion.
These supplies will reveal our outstanding growth from the beginning of the year! We will compare our last essay with the first one we wrote at the year. The difference will be noteworthy. Help us celebrate our love of reading and writing.
