The headphones that I am requesting for my students already have a a place in which they will be loved. We are requesting your help in receiving the device to strengthen our reading! We will use our headphones to listen to and read along with books that are selected to meet the needs of my students based on individual levels to strengthen their independent reading, as I work with small groups.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' independent reading levels, their reading comprehension, as well as expand their vocabulary word bank. As well all understand the more words one is exposed to the more proficient we become!
Through the implementation of an Independent Readers center with the appropriate materials to do so successfully, my students will begin to see themselves as true independent readers. We will use the donated items on a daily basis as we work on reading and answering questions each and everyday.
As a teacher, I have researched listening to and reading along with books, and then answering comprehension questions about the book within the elementary school. Even with all the research I really need your support to make a strong independent time a reality for my students. Thanks for your time and consideration!
