My students think that the drums are really "cool", so of course everyone wants to play them, but their playing is limited to two students due to the noise level. If there could be a few more, that would allow for them to create a steady rhythm in the music played, allow for possible solos that will increase self esteem and boost their self confidence, placing them in the "spotlight" while having fun with their peers. Add in shakers and bells, and we now have a Pre-K band!
These materials would be a great enhancement to our classroom lessons at it will promote socialization, musicianship, self confidence, and help in self regulating behaviors.
