Students that never came into the library, that suddenly did because of puzzles and games, clued me into keys to motivating students. There are so many students from broken homes that are not motivated in our school - but motivated in gaming as an escape. Students, in order to compete week by week in gaming matches, will have to maintain passing grades to rise to the next level of competition as they win. They will start playing in the library, and then June 8th, a festival will occur to allow them to be in a championship match at the local VFW to involve the community. They will be with the top players from the previous individual tournaments, continuing to advance with passing grades. By allowing them to advance in the tournament with quality academic improvement, we will find a way to motivate students. This project will redefine how they can be successful using the library and their own interests in an academic setting.
