The three iPads will be used to promote the Nevada Academic Standards. The students will use the iPad throughout the day, during my free morning tutoring sessions, and in my computer science club. During tutoring sessions I invite students with various needs (academic and emotional) to work with me to tackle deficits that developed during the Covid pandemic. Students will use the iPads during mathematics instruction to practice the use of mathematical operations and algebraic thinking (4.OA) and to collect, represent, and interpret data (4.MD) particularly in the sciences .
Most importantly my students will use the iPad during computer science instruction which happens in class and as part of my computer science club to develop programs that include sequences, events, loops, and conditionals (4.AP.C.1) and to test and debug (identify and fix) errors in programs or algorithms to ensure it runs as intended (4.AP.PD).
Lastly, the iPads will be used throughout science instruction to help students generate and compare multiple solutions that use patterns to transfer information (4-PS4-3).
