When faced with a deficit in reading at any grade, students struggle to find books they are able to read. School libraries try to provide genres for the students, but having a section created for high interest at a lower reading level is hard to monitor. Special Education students want to have the same genre of books as their classmates, but their inability to read at the same level limits their options. The books I have selected will provide a variety of genres for the students to pick from. These books will be stored in the classroom where the students have intervention period. This will give the students an opportunity to do a book report on an age appropriate topic, without sharing the fact that it is at a lower reading level.
