When I moved into my classroom I was grateful to have a carpet handed down from the teacher I replaced. Last year I had 16 students and now I have 21, so our carpet doesn't fit everyone comfortably. Students are knee to knee and can't learn to their fullest potential when packed in. The carpet has also seen it's better days with wear and tear.
Getting a new carpet would allow for students to have a comfortable and more inviting area to work. A majority of our day is spent on the carpet. Students interact on the carpet, learn, explore, do small groups, and so much more. It is the heart of our classroom where everyone comes together.
