I’ve chosen this particular project because many of my students are struggling with social-emotional issues. As a teacher, I am not just teaching the fundamentals, reading, writing, and arithmetic. I have to look at all aspects of my students, the whole child. It is my job to provide emotional support that will enhance their learning. With these materials, I can teach my students how to calm themselves. They will learn coping strategies that will serve them well throughout their lives. They will also see the effects that they can have on others The children will learn about themselves, their friends and have fun while learning and adjusting! These materials will offer an outlet for my students with their struggling emotions. Some don’t have the necessary language to tell me that their classmates what’s wrong. I’ll be able to offer a choice when they are struggling with their emotions!
