Currently, there is a unit in the curriculum calling for students to code robots. However, our school does not have the robots because Exploring Computer Science is a new program for our students. It would be great if I could offer this rich unit of study to my students. By helping supply the robots, students will be able to learn a new and interesting coding skill. And they will see their skill applied in a project using the robots to solve a problem. Our project will challenge students to program their robot through a maze and avoid obstacles. We will scale up the idea when we read about self-driving cars in the streets of Chicago. We will read about the advances in AI and its applications going forward.
