The students in my class love literacy and math centers, but they quickly grow tired of playing the same games over and over again. In order to further grow the minds of my first-graders, I want to provide more hands-on and self-correcting manipulatives into the center opportunities. My students are used to using computers and iPads as independent centers, but through the use of Hot Dots and Wrap-Ups, my students will be able to explore math and literacy in ways that they have not had the chance to be involved with.
With these hands-on, interactive, and engaging manipulatives my students will be able to increase math and literacy fluency. Through the use of these tools, my students will be able to work with peers and independently, self correct their own learning, and be self-motivated learners.
These resources will open up new learning opportunities for my students and will encourage my students to be actively involved in their own authentic learning experiences. By having my students engaged in these interactive centers, I will be able to focus my efforts on promoting reading and math skills with small groups and independent students who need additional support. These resources will open up a new world of centers for my students!
