We are a 4th grade class with 31 students in a large, urban school district. My students face many challenges not only at school but at home. We are a Title 1, low income, and a Program Improvement School. The students are craving for more knowledge, but have little prior knowledge and lack vocabulary. My students need to have Good First Teaching occurring in each and every lesson, this means making every minute count and it being productive as well.
