Reading is the foundation every student needs to succeed in this world. Many of my students struggle with this daily and need some assistance. I have several grade levels in the classroom at one time and the student to teacher ratio is 6:1. These pens could be the game changer we need. We would have a quieter environment for the students without having 2-3 stories read aloud at one time. They could gain independence and confidence with the ability to read on their own. This confidence will lead to great readers that will one day become great leaders.
In my classroom, I assist students with reading comprehension. In order to do so, I use reading passages daily. Most of my students need those passages read out loud to them. It gets very loud when I have more than one passage being read at a time. These pens would give the students the ability to read the passages on their own. This gives them a quieter environment and they can focus better. Our goal it to have our students move up at least one reading level each year. These pens will help the students accomplish this goal.
