Students learn better with hands-on experience. These tools will allow them to hear, feel, and see clinical applications. Soon after I explain a skill or concept in class the students get into small groups and use these tools to apply that learning and make sure they get the outcomes they expect. Tactile and kinesthetic learning helps to reinforce the information taught in class. This also gives the brain another way to store the information so it can be easily retrieved. Teaching stethoscopes allow me to hear exactly what the students are hearing and make comments in real time to reinforce their confidence. These tools will give the students the hands-on experience they need to help them feel comfortable with the skills they are learning. I try to use several learning modalities but hands-on​ experience is one of the most memorable.
