Last year, I began to provide alternative seating options for my 1st graders. I was amazed at how engaged my students were when given seating options other than their desk and chair.
In the 2019-20 school year, I desire to build a 21st Century classroom. I would like to provide a variety of seating options that create spaces for my little ones to focus and learn.
I believe that by adding a short table to work, students will have an optimal place to learn. When given the choice of seating, they could choose to come to the table to read to themselves, read with someone, work on writing, or collaborate with their peers.
