Traditional textbooks are written for students who have typical literacy abilities. Adapted books and colorful hands-on materials are a fun way to help engage students and provide them access to grade-level standards. They give students the ability to interact with a subject by touching and seeing the topic instead of just hearing about it.
Students can match, sort, and identify various items, and the topics are endless!
Because my students are non-verbal and do not read in the traditional sense, I use adapted books and printable hands-on materials that allow them to demonstrate their knowledge. Thank you for considering donating to my project!
