Having a document camera in my classroom will not only help my students to pay more attention while I am explaining how to complete an activity, but it will also enable them to see exactly what I am doing as everything that I am writing down will be projected onto a whiteboard, so they will be better able to copy the directions and/or the steps to complete a problem or activity. This will enable them to have an example of a problem in front of them that they have completed themselves, which will help them to complete the rest of the problems more independently as they have seen me do the problem, and were better able to follow along. I feel like having this piece of technology will limit the questions that the students will ask because they will be better able to see how to complete a problem and will, therefore, be able to do more work independently. I have had a lot of problems explaining and walking through problems without a document camera as the papers are really small and hard to see for students who sit far away, but with a document camera, these problems would be eliminated.
