During my first year of teaching, a few of my students asked me to read a particular book out loud. I had many reservations about the book, but I finally said, "If you can bring me a copy, I'll read it to the class." Little did I know, that book would become not only my first classes favorite book, but also my second. The Land of Stories keeps my students on the edge of their seats, and inspires them to read books that they would have never read before. When we finished book one this year, my students begged me to read the second, just as my previous class had done. Now we are only a few chapters away from finishing our second 400+ page book this year. Next year, I would love to give every one of my students a copy of The Wishing Spell to read along with me. This book helps build my student's imagination, increases their vocabulary, and gets them excited about reading. Thank you, Chris Colfer, for writing such a wonderful book for my kids.
