When students walk into my classroom, I want the environment to be inviting and welcoming. With the round tables in my classroom, students will be able to collaborate with classmates as they gather around a table. A sense of community will be created quickly with those surrounding them. Desks tend to be the way school rooms have been designed for centuries, but students entering today's classroom are unique. I believe they need flexible seating options.
With these tables, students can have a sense of personal space with a balance of social interactions. They can work as teams or individually and learn which way works for them!
The high table literally changes the level of learning. It will add to the dynamic of the room and provide options as students discover who they are and how they learn best.
