Students will use these materials to help motivate and facilitate their reading. Each day, students come to class with a book of their choice, and are given 15 minutes of uninterrupted reading time. This is something that very few of them are able to do at home, as they are often responsible for taking care of a younger sibling, or find it difficult to concentrate there.
By using sticky notes to highlight important parts of the text, students will be motivated to engage in their books and become stronger readers. They will be using these sticky notes to ask questions and make connections.
