One thing I realized in the spring while completing distance/remote learning is the importance of having a quiet place to complete video calls. This is not feasible for a lot of my students so headphones seemed like the next best thing to keep them as focused as possible while at home. A classroom library is one of the most important things in a classroom and if your student's identifies are not represented than the library is not doing its job. These books will allow for representation for all students. Students want to be able to open up a book and feel seen and heard, and these books will do just that.
