Circle time is a simple yet highly effective way to develop a strong sense of community and togetherness in a classroom. Students will be able to develop and strengthen their social emotional learning skills, collaboration skills like compromise, active listening and self expression, and learn to value and give space to varying perspectives and ideas.
Empathy and collaboration are key skills for students to develop in order to be successful in an increasingly globalized and interconnected world. Having a space in our classroom for students to feel safe and welcomed to sit together and work on these essential skills would mean greater access to success for each student.
