This project will help to provide games, activities and materials to make math learning fun! Thinking blocks activities help kids decide which operations to choose to solve word problems. DynaMath magazine can help them connect real world math to the skills they are learning in the classroom.
Kids need movement and games to remember new math concepts. I have a few math games, but need a more well-rounded library to pull from, for a variety of skills. The kids stay engaged and ready to learn.
Unfortunately, one game can be expensive and eats up a classroom budget quickly.
The file folder game sets would be great for me to use, as a math intervention teacher. They would also be great for classroom teachers to borrow, if they need something extra fun. The spin zone wheel could be used with grades K-5, as I can write anything on the wheel. I can use it to study probability, or simple addition facts. It would be so versatile. Mancala and Farkle are great to help with number sense and operations. Kids need multiple ways to show their new math knowledge!
