We use High/Scope curriculum which has my 3-year-old students choose where they will ‘work’ in school for maximum student motivation. I like students to work in our classroom library so that I may read to them in small groups, helping to build their literacy skills. A beautiful new rug will be just what is needed to cover the cold library floor, adding comfort and drawing students to this area. The block area helps students build fine motor, gross motor, visual motor and social skills. New items, particularly with diversity as found in our student body, will elicit student excitement in this area.
