My students have the chance to read a variety of books in several different settings within their day in the classroom and again at home. They read literacy sets in their small "Guided Reading" group meetings. They have individual bags of books to read in during "Read to Self" and also when they finish an activity early. They also have the chance to partner read books on their level during our "Falcon Team Time."
Upon gettng these new books, my students will be able to pick from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their reading level.
Choosing books for their take home book sacks is a highlight of their day! They cannot wait to trade the books they already read to-or-with their family for something new and exciting.
