A few years ago I tried out flexible seating in my classroom and it has been a huge success! I love seeing the students collaborate easily or find their own special comfy place to work. I have seen students get up and move to a place where they can be more productive. When completing a Design Thinking Project, students have many places to spread out and create.
I like to think that my classroom has kind of a "coffee shop" vibe.
Students are working independently or together in cozy spaces. I have purchased tables and cushions over the last few years to help with our flexible seating classroom, but I would love to add another place for the students to work and collaborate. The particular table I hope to get will be a great place for students to collaborate!
