Every reading should have the freedom to choose the books they read. A wide variety of quality picture books that represent our student population is important. Students need access to quality and diverse books to help increase their education, productivity, their health, and quality of life. The quality and diverse picture books will be used during independent reading time. Our firth-grade students do not currently have access to quality and diverse picture books that represent the students population and community they live in. The new books will provide rich experiences and help students learn new things and form connections with fellow human beings.
