My students will use these rats to learn about the external and internal anatomy of mammals. Students can use this knowledge to apply to other life sciences or as a basis for science literacy.
This project will give my students the hands-on, real-life experiences they need to understand the basics of anatomy and give them a foundation for taking advanced Biology classes.
When we finish with our state-mandated curriculum and testing, we will finish the school year with some highly engaging and relevant activities. Students will remember this experience for the rest of their life, whether they choose a science-related career or not.
