My students love hands on activities and getting to see the wonders of chemical experiments. However, sometimes we have to pick and choose what experiments to conduct because of the lack of safety wear. The aprons will allow the students to do more in the classroom as well as provide an extra layer of safety.
While aprons may seem like a small addition, it will open up many doors for our students. Safety is definitely a priority, but I also love the idea of allowing the students to see themselves dressed the part in the lab. So many students have a dislike for science. I want to not only allow them to see they are capable of working out the problems, but also let them see themselves in the attire and visualize their future if they were to choose this path of life.
