In the IB program there is a component of organic chemistry and I would love to give my students an opportunity to have more hands-on experience with the organic chemistry. Many of the labs in organic chemistry require a melting station. There are various labs in which the students need the melting stations in order to identify compounds as well as determine the purity of the compounds. These labs are essential in the organic chemistry curriculum. The students are also required to perform their own research and having these devices would broaden their abilities to do research in organic chemistry. As I build the course, these would be a wonderful addition to providing these applied experiences.
