Flexible seating options give students choices in the space they are learning, often leading to increased engagement and motivation. The standard tables and desks in my classroom are great, but do not offer the flexibility I want for my students. There are times where a student might learn more effectively with a place to stand, or groups might prefer a large table to work at. These tables will offer students the ability to work collaboratively (or individually) while standing or sitting, or moving to a space in our classroom that suits their needs. Outside of the educational environment, people make choices daily about what type of environment will be most effective for the kind of work they are trying to accomplish. I am excited to provide my students the same opportunities.
