The sand and water table can be used in many different ways. I can change the materials in the table depending on the theme or activities we are doing in class. A great example would be to have a mixture of things that are hard and soft or things that are bumpy and smooth.
The students will have the opportunity to touch and feel different textures. This is a great way for students to build vocabulary by using words like soft, hard, squishy, smooth, rough, and sticky.
A sand and water table in the classroom can be exciting for the students because they know they will be able to explore new and different items in their environment.
