My students are constantly wiggling as they grow and learn. Oftentimes this is seen as a lack of attention to learning, and can cause behavior problems if addressed incorrectly. I believe that providing students with the appropriate tools to encourage their learning is essential. My teaching philosophy supports the right for students to make as many choices about their learning as possible throughout the day, and one such choice that I would like to integrate into the classroom is flexible seating. These wobble cushions will give my students choice in their seating and support them as they learn during the day. Other flexible seating options that I will include in the future will be scoop rockers, yoga mats, clip boards, activity trays, and personal shag rugs.
