I want to provide life and job skills for my students. We work hard to teach our students life skills on a daily basis; skills that will help them as they become young adults. Sewing is one of those skills, and is a soon to be forgotten craft in our society. Teaching my students to sew would open a world of benefits for their future. By backing our project, you will provide needed materials, supplies, and support for our young special-needs students. I believe in every single one of my students and I believe job skills, such a sewing would make a huge impact on their future. I am requesting four sewing machines, scissors, and storage bins for my students to use. My grandmother and mom taught me to sew as a young child and I want to use these skills to share with my perfect students. In our small rural community, there is one seamstress, and there is a need for this dying skill. For these students, learning a skill like sewing will open their lives to a world they could never imagine, where they are valued and appreciated. Sewing will make them feel needed and accepted in their little worlds.
