Play is the work of children! However, over the years, play is being cut from learning due to the high expectations of reading and math curriculum with little to no time of exploration in a school setting. The incorporation of exploration to enhance social emotional awareness, social development, and to foster creativity are assets that my scholars crave.
Through play, at a very early age, they get to engage and interact with the world around them.
As their teacher, who strongly believes that play is a form or learning, I want to provide them with the resources to explore different roles by dressing up and engaging in different community helpers. The other resources will help my students with fine motor skills and the ability to use their imagination through play while helping build healthy brain development. These resources will help greatly with free choice play in the classroom.
