We live in a technology driven world and this year we want to motivate our students to be independent thinkers and work independently to gather information that they can share. Our students will be using the headphones and iPads to research different topics and use the information learned to engage in meaningful discourse. Our goal is to expose children to as much of the world as possible within our little community and one avenues that we will utilize is technology.
This year the second grade will be studying animal habitats and adaptations, underground ecosystems, simple machines, our community and communities around the world. We also want to expand their knowledge of current events that affect our changing world such as global warming and climate change. The iPads and headphones will be used to listen to and watch videos pertaining to these subjects and build a better understanding of the world around them.
