Learning should always be engaging for ALL students and their learning needs. Flexible seating allows students to have the freedom in their classroom that they deserve. Students should be free to choose how they want to learn and how they will complete their work during lessons and independent work time. With flexible seating, my students can choose where they want to sit depending on their needs and wants. I started with buying bouncy balls and floor pillows for my students and they love it! I have noticed they are more engaged and eager to finish their work.
Ensuring that students are comfortable and engaged throughout the day is my priority and flexible seating will help me do this.
By allowing students to take ownership of their learning, they are more likely to be engaged and motivated.
The kidney table that I chose allows me to work in a small group to provide support, while students collaborate. The independent floor-work table allows students who like working on the floor and the stand-up table allows students who have a hard time sitting for too long. Lastly, the wiggle chair is amazing for any students who need to get their "sillies" out. Students will have the choice to choose from what they think is best for their learning.
I can't wait to see how much more my students will benefit from more flexible seating options!
