Please help me provide almost 30 new books to our 5th-grade classroom library. As a first-year teacher, one of my greatest concerns is that I will be unable to provide my students with a selection of literature that reflects their racial, gender, academic, ability, and cultural diversity. Each one of my students deserves access to literature that educates, inspires, and affirms. That being said, I want to curate a classroom library that is filled with books that act as both windows and mirrors. Diverse and varied literature should illuminate the world as well as act as a tool for self-reflection. With your help, I can provide my students with a safe and inclusive selection of literature that will open their minds and their hearts.

About my class
