My students often do not eat breakfast. A hand full of them do not eat lunch because they cannot pay for it since they do not qualify for free and reduced lunch but they are still financially struggling at home. Students learn better when they are not thinking of how hungry they are. Students deserve a snack when they put in the extra time and effort to do work after school or during their free time through the day. We have a Pacific Islander Club on campus, they often need a speaker to practice their cultural dances when computers go down through out the campus and they cannot access youtube on a PC that is connected to an old pair of speakers. When the internet is down, they have no music to move to. Also, students are always in need of notebooks or pens. There is one class here where the teacher cannot see pencil. Students are required to bring pens. I often find myself at the dollar tree spending my own dollars to get pens for students since they tend to carry only pencils. Providing supplies is vital. Thank you.
