The addition of 3D printing to our study of sounds waves allows students to undergo real-world application during the project. They will research and design their whistle to meet their specific requirements. The ability to create working whistles transforms the project from theory to application.
Through the design and testing process, they will experience the satisfaction of seeing the ideas come to life. They can experiment with the design to see how changes affect the whistle's sound waves and have the ability to draw conclusions based on real-life application.
Furthermore, the addition of a 3D printer to our classroom opens endless possibilities to transform many of our labs to incorporate technology that genuinely transforms the educational process.
