Teaching art to young people has many exciting and challenging moments. Some exciting parts I've experienced with my students include discovering new techniques, developing pride in creativity, creating with friends, and so much more. However, like all good things in the world, we have experienced some challenges too. To name just one, CLEAN UP! My students wear uniforms to school (many owning only a couple uniform shirts to wear everyday), so it's important to keep their outfits clean to last the whole year.
Easy to wear, full coverage art smocks will help keep the sparkling uniforms stain free while students experiment and explore messy art mediums without reservation. I am slowly transitioning to a TAB (teaching for artistic behavior) classroom. TAB is a level of student autonomy, giving full creative responsibility to the student with teacher guidance and/or facilitation. In other words, the student explores, plans and creates original works of art without restricting guidelines. TAB allows students, not only, to choose their own subject matter, but media as well....and, the messiest media is always the most popular! Please consider supporting these wonderful, young artists by keeping their precious uniforms clean while creating!
