These hollow blocks will replace the few blocks I have available that are in very poor shape. Our current blocks are falling apart and cannot support the structures the children build. The photo included in this project used the currently available hollow blocks in September of this school year. Since this time, through no misuse on the children’s part, I have had to remove 4 of these blocks due to them being dangerous for children to use.
The children will have opportunities to learn math and science skills using the hollow blocks in conjunction with our unit blocks and other blocks. We will learn shape names, build scales and structures, and so much more! Children will be encouraged to build towers, walls, buildings, and vehicles that support their story retelling work.
