By having a classroom set of scientific calculators, each student has an equal opportunity to succeed. While a $12 calculator may not be much, it could be the difference of having food for dinner or enough gas to get to work in our district. Students will be able to solve long sets of equations quickly so we can discuss what the computations actually mean. We will train ours brains to think and interpret numbers and data at an advanced level. We can focus on qualifying results instead of only churning out calculations. We will learn more than the "how" and spend our found time looking and the "why" and "what next".
