Our kindergarteners and first graders have 90 minutes of violin instruction during the school day. Fourth and fifth graders are introduced to guitar, but with six strings, that can be a pretty steep learning curve for many students.
The ukulele fits our students perfectly: small and just four strings to manage! By adding ukulele to our instruction, it will be easier for students to accompany their singing with a stringed instrument.
This success will provide more opportunity for practice, mastery, and hopefully motivate many to want to learn to play the guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, and other folk instruments.
