I have noticed in the last couple of years that students do not get enough opportunities to move around. I believe this is leading to their difficulty attending to instruction and inability to stay on task. I give my students brain breaks and recess whenever I can, but the curriculum requirements for second grade are difficult to fit into the time constraints of an academic year. These flexible seating options will give my students the freedom to work where they feel comfortable and take charge of their own learning. Also, these seating options will give them the opportunity to move safely while working.
