Our school is a high poverty school in California. Our students receive free meals (including breakfast in the classroom). Most of my students are English Language Learners who lack parental support/involvement. In addition to not completing their homework, these students don't practice reading daily at home. As a result, my students are performing far below grade level in all academic areas. They are also in constant need of school supplies, as these are not provided by their parents.
