Many of my students come from low income families, who are struggling financially, and start the year with limited or no school supplies. These simple but necessary supplies such as, pencil sharpener, erasers, earphones will help to jumpstart our classroom.
Being able to arrive at school without worrying about if you will have the supplies to complete an assignment is a huge burden lifted from a child's mind.
