It is so hard to watch my students on the first day of school, some arrive with backpacks full of school supplies ready for success while others walk with downcast eyes to ask for a borrowed pencil. Both sets of students are greeted with warm smiles and "good mornings" but some students find it easier to return those smiles than others.
It is my hope that with headphones and class sets of supplies I can make learning available to all of my students. When we read a difficult article on our computers, students who need it to be read aloud should not feel embarrassed when they do not have headphones. When students cannot afford expo markers, they shouldn't have to use paper and pencil and feel different.
I have provided school supplies for 8 years to students who need them but with 2 kids of my own it is getting more and more difficult. I am asking for your help to put all my students on the same playing field so that everyone can experience success based on their work and effort and not just what their parents can afford.
Thank you so much for your time! I am so excited to see my students faces when they are gifted with your donations.
