There is something about a read aloud that is MAGIC in kindergarten. Students are captivated by the characters and the stories that they hear. We read aloud every day, but there are still countless more books that my students can be exposed to.
Listening to stories helps build vocabulary, as well as supports many other skills. If my students have a listening center with a variety of stories to choose from, they will have even more opportunities to find stories they love. My goal is to have a listening center with books to catch the eye of every student in my room, now and in the future.
