Students will be able to mix culture and art! They will be able to create amazing paintings in honor of this Hispanic celebration. As they create their Day of the Dead Canvas they will learn about the meaningful tradition that most Hispanic's celebrate. Students will paint their own canvas to recreate a "Calavera" a skull, which is the main symbol of this beautiful tradition. I want my students to experience something different from the typical coloring worksheet. They will be able to take the canvas home and display their beautiful work of art in honor of this celebration! I also want to display some of the paintings in our school cafeteria for the whole school to enjoy!
