Students dream of financial independence, of having the ability to provide for themselves and help others. However, they are not taught how to get there. We tell them to study, work hard and get a good job. A good income without an understanding of the world of finance is not enough.
By providing resources that teach sound financial principles and using classroom discussions to encourage the students to research independently, we can help these students succeed. The books I am ordering complement the ones we have and provide insight into topics that students are asking about. Teaching them to research topics of their own interest, and sharing ideas with each other in class will help them avoid financial pitfalls and create a better future for themselves.
